Soho is a neighbourhood in Lower Manhattan, New York City. Soho came to the publics’ attention in recent history for being the location of many art galleries and artist’s lofts. At present it is better known for its variety of shops ranging from trendy and expensive stores to national and international chain store outlets. Soho’s history is a typical example of inner-city regeneration and houses which are increasing a lost in value, including socio-economic developments (meaning related to how much money and power people have), cultural and political developments, and finally architectural developments which is related to designing and constructing beautiful buildings, structures, etc.

Greenwich Village, which locals often refer to it as ‘the village’ is a neighbourhood on the west side of Lower Manhattan New York City. Greenwich Village has been known as an artists’ safe place, the cradle of the modern LGBT movement, the Bohemian capital and the East-Coast birthplace of the Beat together with the 60s counterculture movements. Located in Greenwich Village are two of New York’s best colleges: New York University and the New School.

Soho and Greenwich village is definitely a place to go to especially when visiting New York for the first time. You can take the downtown Hop on Hop off bus to Soho and join the Soho Little Italy Chinatown Walking Tour at 12:00. You can also head east where you will find the New Museum (which is the premier destination for contemporary art). If you want an early dinner head over to Union Square at Heartland Brewery (15% of with NYP)
