1. Cattaraugus County Fair

2. 7th Annual Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice

This festival is the self-proclaimed mecca of musical events. It celebrates music from all walks of life. It is located in Phoenicia, which is voted amongst the top 10 coolest small towns in America. It is held between August 4-7, and the tickets vary in prices.

3. 159th Annual Oswego County Fair

At this fair, food, games, live entertainment and amusement rides make up this historic fair. It is a weekend full of fun and games for all the family when travelling to New York City. It is located in Sandy Creek, New York and it is held between August 10-14. The best part is that Admission is free, thereby if you are travelling to New York City on a shoestring budget, this is surely the fair to go to.

4. Erie County Fair

This fair is the nation’s third largest. It consists of agricultural displays, entertainment, fair foods, rides and more. At this fair, you will not run out of opportunities to laugh, play and indulge.it is located in Buffalo New York. It is held between August 10-21 while admission is only $10.

5. 12th Annual Hudson Valley Rib Fest

If you are getting hungry and you are up for some New York food, travel to New Paltz for the 12th Annual Hudson Valley Rib Fest for all-you-can-eat barbeque! It is situated in New Paltz, New York. It takes place between August 19-23 and admission is $7.

6. Dutchess County Fair

This is the second largest county fair in New York City. This fair plays host to around half a million patrons and is a showplace for NYC and Dutchess County agriculture. More than 144 finely manicured gardens and grass lawns loaded with fair accoutrements are yours this August. It is located in Rhinebeck New York. It is held between August 23-28 and admission is $15.
